Note about myself, I’m a huge fan of generating content/data. Every day, I would go into Google and type in the words, “fake content generator.” For hours, I would open a bunch of links in a new tab and see if I like their tool.

For that matter, I wanted to share 4 of my favorite tools for generating mockup data for your design, plus a bonus one. In that case, you probably might want to get your bookmarks ready.

Faker

Let’s start with the holy grail of fake data generators. **Faker** is a javascript library that can generate massive amounts of realistic-ish data. Although the original repo is corrupted, a team of engineers was able to bring this repo back to life.

In Faker, you can generate lots of data. From product names, valid addresses, time-based data, and even hacker jargon!

Chance

I want to put this next to Faker because it never disappoints me. **Chance** is a cool JavaScript generator that has loads of options to generate fake data — names, addresses, sentences, and even Twitter handles!

You can try this generator by going to the console of the website through developer tools. The website stated that Chance is already built into the website and you can try it out through there.

RandomUser.Me

For something much more basic, then you should try Random User Generator. With one click, you can generate a user profile with basic info— name, address, phone number—complete with a profile picture.

Speaking of profile pictures, the website has a dedicated page for user photos only. They even have an API for generating more data in different nationalities.

Mockaroo

If you like your content to be generated on the fly, **Mockaroo** is your answer. This tool can generate over 1000+ randomized data that you can export to JSON or CSV files.

You can go basic with this tool—name, email address, city—or make it different—colors, even animals. Afterward, you can export it and you can do anything with it (maybe use it for Figma, perhaps).
